All five of these plants are great for either the budding gardener or for those whose schedules just don’t allow us to keep up with high maintenance plants. Indoor gardening will infuse your home décor with that touch of green that gives rooms a distinct and fresh personality all their own. These indoor plants really prove the old adage “less is more” by requiring less work and giving your home décor more character.
Succulent plants are becoming more popular for their durable and low-maintance lifestyles. Create your own, indoor succulent garden by finding the sunniest (and loneliest) window sill and measure the depth of the sill for a perfect fit. Next go to your local garden shop and buy an inexpensive window box (any material is fine), enough sand to fill half the box and enough decorative stone to fill the remaining half the box. Next choose your succulent plants - having fun with mixing colors, shapes and heights (feel free to ask an expert about the types of plants that will work best for your space). Simply layer the bottom of your box with sand, and then fill with your rocks (leaving about 1/3 of the rocks for topping). Add your succulent plants into the rocks and mixture, and cover the top layer with the remaining rocks. Water well, and place on your window sill. You'll enjoy the benefits and ease of your new indoor garden!
